Warframe Devstream 169 Breakdown
The latest Devstream from Digital Extremes has just wrapped up on all Warframe channels. This devstream was very different as they celebrated their 10-year anniversary of the game. This means that they went back and looked over how the game evolved over the last decade. From humble beginnings to the full-on crazy sci-fi action shooter it is today. However, there were some surprises shown during the devstream, such as new gameplay for The Duviri Paradox. As well as Soulframe, their upcoming new MMO.
Here is everything that was shown from today’s devstream for Warframe.
Celebrating 10 years of Warframe
The team at Digital Extremes took a look back at 10 years of Warframe. Showing off animations, old gameplay, UI, and other nostalgic stuff that long-time players would recognize. Such as stamina, paid revives, and supercharging. Alongside other evolutions in their production quality. Like the major improvements to motion capture and how they were proud of how large they could make lephantis, the world boss of Deimos.
But that was not all that was shown during the 10-year anniversary. They detailed that they were going to give players 10 weeks of consistent in-game alerts to pick up goodies. From cosmetics to weapons. Here is when and what to expect from the anniversary alerts.

New Soulframe and The Duviri Paradox Gameplay
The team at Digital Extremes also showed off some stunning new gameplay from Soulframe and The Duviri Paradox. They showed off a small vertical slice of Soulframe, wandering in a free-roam-looking environment and fighting some enemies. There were normal sword-wielding enemies, some with dual daggers and a heavy axe-wielding one.
The gameplay looks similar to melee combat in Warframe. But tuned to be a little bit slower to capture the essence of danger. They also showed you can use your bird to stun enemies and steal elemental powers they are using. When this ability was used on dual dagger users, the sword of the player had flames engulfing it. The gameplay looked very solid, despite it still being in early development. The minimalist approach to the game HUD is also very nice. More details on Soulframe will be shown during Tennocon 2023.
Finally, they showed off two new enemy encounters for The Duviri Paradox. The first was a knight riding a horse that is going to use large sweeping attacks and aerial fireballs created by a stomp from their horse. The enemy design and attack patterns give off major From Software vibes. While the second was a glimpse at the Orowyrm fight.
In this fight, you will have to fly to the beast and embark on it using the Orvius. Creative director Rebecca Ford stated this will be a two-phase boss fight and looks to be quite a new challenge for a team of players to face together. Before The Duviri Paradox goes live next month, there will be a Reddit AMA session hosted to answer questions about this massive expansion to Warframe.
