To think it’s been only a year with PS VR2 on the market. With the reaction to the platform being decidedly mixed, one would assume Sony has no future planned for the platform. However, Sony put out an update on the PlayStation Blog post breaking down some upcoming games and a promise that could give the platform a major shot in the arm.

PS VR2 One Year Later

The blog post highlighted releases like The Wizards – Dark Times: Brotherhood (Out Now) and a free update for the popular Arizona Sunshine 2 (also out today). In addition, Sony made a promise for PC users specifically.

Also, we’re pleased to share that we are currently testing the ability for PS VR2 players to access additional games on PC to offer even more game variety in addition to the PS VR2 titles available through PS5. We hope to make this support available in 2024, so stay tuned for more updates.

It cannot be understated how important getting support with PC is for PlayStation VR2. PC is the platform for VR games and getting one of the best headsets compatible with that would be massive for the platform. It could also foster more support for PS VR2 games as well, considering a control scheme on PC could be ported to the native PlayStation VR2 version.

Having a history of not committing to under-performing platforms, doubt in PlayStation’s commitment to VR is understandable. But pushing for PC support will do a lot in ensuring a future for the PlayStation VR platform as a whole. With recent comments about games coming to other platforms, their statement on VR could imply VR2 exclusives could make their way to PC alongside the live service games and potentially older single-player experiences.
