Warframe: Caliban Build and Post Rework Review

Caliban is a warframe that was mostly abandoned for years. Originally launching with The New War, Caliban has not seen a single skin, change, nor augment for his kit and it felt really strange. But during TennoCon 2024, when they announced Koumei and The Five Fates under the guise of a secret fall update. They made one thing clear; Caliban would be getting some love. A deluxe skin, and a complete overhaul to his kit was in order, and after the update went live, seeing Calibans felt less like a bad choice in a group, and more like a welcomed addition. So much so, that even I found a build that works with his reworked kit after originally just feeding him to the helminth without a second thought.

Caliban Post Rework Build in Warframe

Below is the build I have been using for Caliban in the game since the update launched:

For starters, I do not care for his first ability and opted to use Roar instead. The focus on duration is mostly for things like his second and third abilities. The lack of range really does not matter as the mix of Molt efficiency, and Precision Intensify really help with cleaning up enemies to the point where more range is just not needed. Depending on what you are going up against, you can either use Primed Redirection or Vigor to avoid dying by health damage via poison, or Deep Archimedeas shadow enemies, or debuffs like Knifestep.

Below are the Archon Shards I chose for him, obviously, you can use whatever you feel is best instead:

Caliban Post Rework Review

When it comes to Caliban, there is still room for improvement. I feel like the sentients you summon can be ordered to stay in place, like you do to specters. His fourth ability could synergize much better that way. But overall, this is a great rework for him. I feel like if there were augments to use, there would be more to play around with. But as it stands, Caliban feels less niche, and more mainstream and fun to use in every activity. His ultimate especially is very fun to melt enemies. I just hope that one day the Tau status type can be a mod for weapons, it helps his second ability synergize with status-based weapons in a very good way.

Overall, he is an excellent warframe now, and you can have him for free until the 16th of this month, so do not miss out on him!
