Hogwarts Legacy: Everything We Know

One of the most important series whether you’re talking about books or movies is The Harry Potter series. Over the years, we have had a Harry Potter game for each movie or book. This dates back all the way from Sorcerer’s Stone to The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 and even some Lego games. It has been a long while since we have had one. Fortunately, we have Hogwarts Legacy on the horizon. Let’s dive into everything we know about this upcoming game.

Background

Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the world we all know and love from the books. We all get to be the focus of our own adventure in this amazing wizarding world. The game is currently being developed by Avalanche Software, which was acquired by Warner Bros back in 2017. Hogwarts Legacy is being published by Port Key Games which was set up by Warner Bros to handle the Wizarding World franchise. The game is being built on Unreal Engine 5.

Hogwarts Legacy Plot

Hogwarts Legacy is set to take place during the 1800s. It has been said we will be able to enjoy the classes and even pick our own Hogwarts Houses. It is an open world and will allow us to explore and visit such places as the Forbidden Forest and even Hogsmeade Village. If you are familiar with the Harry Potter series you will be happy to know we will learn to cast various magical spells, brew potions, even tame magical beasts.

There will be a combat system in Hogwarts Legacy that we can master. In addition, the game also includes some type of morality system that plays a role in the game. You will be able to create your own witch or wizard and customize your body type and voice. It’s said that our character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. Your character received a late acceptance to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and soon discovers that the pupil is no ordinary student. In fact, the student possesses an unusual ability to perceive and master Ancient Magic.

I wonder will people choose to protect the secret and help the side of good or give in to the temptation of more sinister magic. Either way battling dark wizards and deciding the fate of the wizarding world in Hogwarts Legacy sounds like a blast to me.

Release Date

Hogwarts Legacy was delayed into 2022 and there’s no specific release date mentioned yet. The game is rumored to release in the back half of 2022. Of course, this makes some sense. As it would give plenty of time to capitalize on Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’s post-release. It is believed to release on PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S
